What's your excuse?

The Lord's rebuke at His first coming is ever so true today, "This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." (Mark 7:6). I find it odd that when Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost he, as well as the other Apostles, left the safety of the four walls of that upper-room and headed out into the streets to proclaim the Gospel. That's a far cry from that of todays so-called spirit-filled preachers who never have the holy boldness to head out into the highways and hedges.
“It is a noticeable fact that whenever a great reformation commences, I mean a movement that has life and fire in it – then the reformers take to field preaching. They quit the houses; they go into the streets or fields or out in the open somewhere. . . when a deep and fiery movement of the Christian religion is in progress.” —B. H. Carroll
