To Affect Others For God

Updated: Nov 9, 2022

In order to affect others for God we must be much in prayer. I have in these last months been burdened much by God to pray. One Wednesday evening while on my way to prayer meeting, I was at a gas station and the attendant was transgender. As I walked in to pay for gas it was raining very hard, and I could not tell for the rain in my eyes who was behind the counter. I put the money on the counter and said, "$20 on pump..." When the attendant responded I said, "Thank you Sir," and walked out to pump my gas. To my dismay, as the rain began to lessen, I noticed that the person behind the counter was transgender. Right then, God smote my heart. He told me that if I ever wanted a chance to witness to that man I had better go in and apologize to him, which I did. Then, during the service God told me to go and pray for that man. So for about 20 minutes I wept tears and interceded to God for that him. I later asked God in prayer, "Why did you burden me with that man?" "I'm no one important, so why me?" That's when God said, "I died for the sin of the whole world, including those that the average Christian would detest." You see, we seem to think that there are those that are worthy of God grace and others that are not, but that's not the case for God. God died for even the least among us; for the Hitler's and Mussolini's of this world, and not just for those that are like we are. In the Old Testament, it was the duty of the Priests to make intercession for the people night and day. And in the New Testament we read that He "hath made us kings and priests unto God." The bible declares, "that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth." And this is the reason that Bounds implores us to "talk to God for men."
