Acts 15:10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
Note the use of the word disciples to describe those that had received the Gospel. Those that declare there is a difference between a saved person and a disciple are deceivers who would have men believe the gospel has no transforming power, but this is not scriptural. No person that had a saving encounter with the Lord Jesus ever walked away unchanged.
And this Paul asserts in his first letter to Timothy in which he declares unequivocally that he was "a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.": "And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting." (1 Tim 1:12-16)
Satan's masterpiece to a lost and dying world is a Gospel with no power. And those that receive this other gospel, "which is not another," become as Jesus wrote a "two-fold more child of hell." The Gospel either destroys the spirit of man which is in bondage to Satan and sin, or the spirit of man and Satan destroys the Gospel which has been sown in his heart. "When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side" (Mat 13:9). The truly sad part is, that these people, which are still dead in their trespasses and sins, will continue to die for all eternity unless God, through His Spirit, intercedes!
“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple” (Luke14:27).
